Tourists embark on wonderful journey by maglev train in Fenghuang

Fenghuang Maglev Sightseeing Express Line, as the first sightseeing express line in China integrating maglev, culture, and tourism, connects Fenghuang High-speed Railway Station and the Fenghuang Ancient Town Scenic Area, and becomes a new brand of Fenghuang’s tourism. This maglev line has a total length of 9.12 kilometers and 4 stations. With an average departure interval of 18 minutes, it can transport more than 28,000 tourists per day at most.

The Fenghuang Ancient Town Station, adjacent to Fenghuang High-speed Railway Station, with modern facilities and convenient transfer channels, is the starting point for tourists to embark on a wonderful maglev journey.

The Fenghuang Yingbin Station, the second stop of the maglev express line, is equipped with a maglev science popularization museum, allowing tourists to explore the mystery of maglev. The Fenghuang History and Culture Museum nearby, decorated with elements of Miao and Tujia culture, showcases the rich ethnic customs. The Fenghuang Lansheng Station is a highlight of the entire maglev express line. There is a maglev technology experience hall in the station, with interactive devices of simulated driving, intelligent cross dressing, and VR experience, allowing tourists to soak up the charm of technology.

The indoor immersive performance theater with a train theme, covering an area of nearly 2,400 square meters, is the endpoint of this maglev journey. On the Biancheng special train, the love story in the “Border Town” written by Shen Congwen, one of the most influential modern Chinese writers, is reproduced through the ultra-high definition holographic projection technology. On the Fenghuang special train, tourists can travel across space and time to experience the charm of history by watching 5D movies. The bridge piers of Fenghuang Maglev Sightseeing Express Line are petal-shaped, blending with the natural landscape of Fenghuang. Along the express line, there are such landscapes as a sea of seasonal flowers and colorful wall paintings, making tourists feel as if they are travelling through a beautiful landscape painting.

Besides, due to low noise, low energy consumption, and zero pollution, the maglev sightseeing train is beneficial for the ecological protection of the scenic area and meets the requirements of sustainable development of the tourism industry.

Since its operation on July 30, 2022, the Fenghuang Maglev Sightseeing Express Line has received 3 million visitors with its unique experience, driven an annual consumption of 360 million yuan and created 7,000 job opportunities, injecting new vitality into the tourism development of Fenghuang Ancient Town.
